Innovation payment (NUB), HTA and government sponsored clinical trials 137(e/h) in Germany
The German innovation payment (NUB) has historically been the most attractive in Europe for companies with products in the inpatient sector. During the last few years, the role of this has changed substantially.
For procedures based on high-risk medical devices eligible for the 137(h) HTA process, a thorough evidence evaluation is carried out, potentially leading to a government sponsored clinical trial 137(e).
For companies that are eligible for this pathway, or who apply directly for 137(e), it is essential to have a clear understanding of the process and the requirements to be successful.
